Where teachers actually use it
Student compositions. A student who plays their piece by ear finally sees it written down — and for exam boards that accept own compositions, the score is the submission. Lesson arrangements. Honest limits

Automatic transcription is a first draft, not a finished score. The free 30-second preview exists so you can see exactly that on your own recording before paying anything.
Solo piano only
Record the piano part on its own. A duet or a student singing along produces wrong notes.
No fingerings or pedagogy marks
The score has notes, rhythms and clefs. Fingerings, dynamics and teaching marks are added in your notation app.
Simplification is manual
It writes what was played, not an easier version. Thinning a texture for a beginner is an editing pass — the MusicXML makes it fast.
Hands may need swapping
Notes around middle C can land on the wrong staff for how the passage is actually played.
Rubato writes literally
A student's free timing comes out as literal rhythm. Expect to simplify the notation for younger players.
