About this topic

Worship teams regularly play songs that no chart catalogue carries: an original from someone in the congregation, a local arrangement, or an older hymn setting nobody has written out. When the only source is a recording, somebody has to turn it into something the band can read.

This section covers that workflow: getting a chart or lead sheet from a recording, choosing between a chord chart, a lead sheet and Nashville numbers, and what your licence does and does not cover when a song is missing from the usual services. The aim is a chart the whole team can use at rehearsal, not a perfect engraving.
